SUMMARY: Create and develop an on-air PM drive show and assist Program Director in executing the
format of the station as developed with Cumulus CHR programming Format Captain and
Regional VP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Assist Program Director in managing and leading full time and part time on-air staff for Lafayette’s Contemporary Hit Station KSMB FM.
- Produce a compelling radio show.
- Assist in production and imaging of station.
- Assist Program Director in overseeing promotion and marketing.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Basic on-air skills with a minimum of three years full-time on-air experience
- FCC license compliance.
- Knowledge of OpX systems.
- Production skills a must
- Experience with Adobe Audition 1.5 or 3.0
- Ability to work with and get along with others
- Take direction and execute instructions
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
– Minimum three years on air experience.
– Some college preferred

Cumulus Media – Lafayette has an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer. As Chief Engineer you will direct and coordinate installation, maintenance and repair of studio, transmitting and ancillary equipment in order to maintain competitive signals in the market while complying with all FCC technical requirements.
General Responsibilities:
• Maintain station operation through preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Establish and follow routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all systems.
• Install and perform maintenance on studio systems, transmitters, antennas, control systems, etc.
• Work with promotions department to engineer successful remote broadcasts as needed. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
• Advanced experience with digital audio delivery systems, particularly BE's AudioVault and BSI's OpX.
• Ability to troubleshoot broadcast equipment to the component level.
• Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and repair high power FM transmitting facilities.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, UPS and standby generators.
• Extensive IT skills including local and wide area networking.
• Computer literacy in common business software packages, particularly Microsoft OSes and Office.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and ability to prioritize properly. Must be a motivated self-starter.
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to interact in a positive, friendly, and productive way with staff at all levels.
• Exhibit a willingness to assist with special projects and technical issues at Cumulus facilities outside the Lafayette market.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education, Licensing & Experience Requirements:
• Associates or technical degree in Broadcast Engineering Technology or related field, or an equivalent level of experience.
• SBE certification a plus.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or Staff Engineer. Physical Requirements:
• May require lifting or moving up to 75 pounds.
• May require climbing ladders and working on elevated surfaces.
• Good manual dexterity for soldering, use of hand tools and working on small components.
• Ability to be on call 24 x 7 x 365 for after-hours emergencies as the need arises.
