Louisiana Mask Mandate Lifted With Exceptions

Earlier today, Gov. Edwards announced the end of the mask mandate for Louisianians with some exceptions. Now, individuals who have not been vaccinated any longer need their masks in public. However, there are some exceptions to the rule. Masks will still be required in:

  • Health facilities
  • Public Transit
  • Jails/correctional facilities

Schools and universities will also keep their mask mandates in place until the end of the academic school year, then parishes will have their own guidelines in place per school district for any summer courses.

Businesses will continue to set their own guidelines.
