It’s Tax Day – But Not Really

If you noticed the date on your calendar this morning and your heart sank remembering it’s Tax Day, relax – the deadline was pushed back to May 17th. Last month, the Treasury Department and IRS announced an automatic extension for individuals on their 2020 federal taxes.

Just remember, if you haven’t received your second or third stimulus check or received less than you were owed because of outdated information, once you’ve filed your 2020 taxes you could collect additional funds. For example, someone who claimed married and one defendant in 2019 but had two depends in 2020, you’d be entitled to stimulus funds for that dependent you hadn’t been paid for with the previous stimulus payouts which were based on 2019 taxes filings.
