Shortly after the pandemic began, hand sanitizer producers struggled to meet the demand for their product. For public safety, many companies quickly shifted their focus to produce their own version of the product. That quickness came with a cost, as a study reveals that 21 of 260 brands were found to have higher than acceptable levels of benzene, a cancer causing chemical.
