Chris Logan’s ‘Uh Uh’ Moment of the Day Jan. 13 2021

Stefan Thomas from San Francisco lost the password to get into his Bitcoin digital wallet, which is worth $234 million.  After 10 wrong guesses at the password, the drive will encrypt forever….Stefan tried 8 times already with no luck!

Stefan’s digital wallet has 7,002 Bitcoin in it, which means it’s worth around $234 million.

The private keys he needed to unlock his account are on an encrypted hard drive and he the password to that hard drive.

Mr. Thomas only has two more shots to figure out his password or he’s out of those big bucks forever.  I didn’t know this, but since Bitcoin is decentralized, there’s no “get my lost keys” option.  You either have them or you don’t and you’re out of luck.

Stefan says, quote, “I would just lay in bed and think about it.  Then I would go to the computer with some new strategy, and it wouldn’t work, and I would be desperate again.”
