From Acadia Parish School Board’s Website –
The Acadia Parish School System, after re-assessing a number of variables associated with and not limited to the following: the availability of PPE (personal protective equipment), availability of staff and maintaining a safe working environment, reviewing USDA meal component requirements, etc. will provide a modified Grab-N-Go meal service on MONDAY, APRIL 6th at the original five food serving sites (Crowley Middle School, Armstrong Middle School, Church Point Elementary School, Iota High School and Estherwood Elementary School) between 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The goal is to provide multiple meals containing individually wrapped food items to children 18 years of age and under for the week. The modified meal service by the school system will allow the district to provide the service while limiting contact in order to stop the spread of COVID-19. State officials have approved our modified plan. We encourage drivers of vehicles to stay in the vehicle and assist us with receiving the meals at each site on MONDAY, APRIL 6th.
The Lafayette Parish School System’s grab & go pick-up meal service has changed beginning Monday,
April 6. There will be five meal sites that will continue to operate from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m until Thursday, April 9, 2020, the last day for the grab & go meal service. Meals will be served to all children
18 years and younger in the parish on a first-come, first-serve basis.
LPSS will transition to the Emergency Meals-to-You Program which will begin delivering meals in the near future to students who applied and qualified for this service. LPSS Grab & Go Meal Sites 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through April 9, 2020
