UPDATE: 3/30/2020 –
The International Olympic Committee has set new dates for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, July 23- August 8, 2021, in and around Tokyo.
The 2020 Olympics in Tokyo will be postponed due to the coronavirus and will more than likely not take place until 2021.
This marks the first time in history that an Olympics has been suspended. The initial report quotes IOC member Dick Pound who said while logistics are being worked out, “the Games are not going to start on July 24, that much I know.”
It appears as though the 2020 Games will not be held in 2020, but there has been no official announcement on a rescheduled date.
