
URGENT NEED OF BLOOD IN ACADIANA
Lafayette, LA — United Blood Services today announced a critical appeal for type O positive and RH negative ( O negative, A negative, B negative) blood donors. The weather combined with the flu/cold season has caused numerous blood drive and donor appointment cancellations.
United Blood Services has less than a one-day supply of blood types O negative, A negative, B negative. Currently, we have several hospitals waiting for orders to be filled for these blood types. It is imperative that the community respond to this need immediately.
Donors are encouraged to schedule a convenient appointment time online. The community can donate blood at United Blood Services’ donor center located at:

UL-Lafayette AmeriCorps, The Cinderella Project, and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers team up to present the 6th Annual Cinderella Project of Lafayette.
Donations accepted Monday, February 4th through Friday, February 22nd at any Lafayette or Broussard area Raising Cane’s Restaurant and the UL-Lafayette AmeriCorps office.
Lafayette – UL- Lafayette AmeriCorps,The Cinderella Project, and Raising Cane’s are teaming up to collect prom dresses, shoes, and accessories for the 5th annual Cinderella Project of Lafayette. Donations will be collected at any Lafayette or Broussard area Raising Cane’s or the UL-Lafayette AmeriCorps office from Monday, February 4th thru Friday, February 22nd during normal business hours. The Cinderella Project of Lafayette distributes free prom dresses to Acadiana area high school girls who cannot otherwise afford them.
The Cinderella Project accepts long and short dresses and donations should be dry cleaned and on hangers. Additional donation guidelines as well as operational hours for all drop-off locations can be found at www.cinderellaprojectla.org.
