The Opelousas Little Theater presents Pippi Longstocking, the Family Musical

The Opelousas Little Theatre is announcing the wonderful adventures of Pippi Longstocking, the Family Musical, starting on March 28th – April 14th.

Pippi is the high-spirited, warm-hearted incarnation of every child’s dream of freedom and power.

Dressed in strange clothes and living with her horse and pet monkey, she possesses supernatural strength and untold wealth.

And now the rollicking adventures that put her at odds with the demands of life in a small town fill an effervescent family musical written by Denmark’s celebrated composer/lyricist/recording artist, Sebastian.

When Pippi is not dancing with burglars who are trying to steal the gold coins given to her by her father (a pirate who is revered as a king by a tribe of South Sea island cannibals), she is at the circus fighting the strongest man in the world or playing tag with policemen.

This uproariously funny musical starring the world’s most popular enfant terrible has played to sold out audiences the world over.

At the Opelousas Little Theatre, our small part of the world, Pippi wreaks havoc on any and all near her, for the most part, for their own good.

The wonderfully talented young cast includes:

Abelle “Bella” Kimball as Pippi, Angeline Watts as “Pippi’s Horse”/Pajazzo, the circus horse, Alexis Stelly as the School Mistress, Joey Ardoin as Tommy Settergreen, Ivy Carrier as Annika Settergreen, Sabrina Dupre as Mrs. Prysselius, Alita Broussard as the Circus Ringmaster, Abigail “Abby” Pitre as Miss Carmencita, Bradley Stalnaker as Mighty Adolf, Brad Chavis, Jr. as Bloom, Andrew Lavergne as Thunder Karlson, Walter Duncan McBride as Captain Ephraim Longstocking, Georgia Potter as Clang and Emily Lavergne as Cling, Savannah Dupre as Mrs. Granberg, Laila Jordan as Marianne Settergreen and finishing out the cast are Kaelyn Richard, Joscelyn Abshire, Aysa Jordan.

Pippi Longstocking is a story based on the novel by Astrid Lindgren, translated by Philip Edmonds, with music and lyrics by Sebastian, adapted for the stage by Sebastian and Staffan Gotestam and published by Samuel French Publishers.

This great story is brought to you in direction of Dana Reed, Meagan Louviere, Choreography by Andi Fontenot, Musical Direction by Walter Duncan McBride and Jamie Green.

Pre-sale tickets can be purchased for $10 from Sebastian- Dupre Fine Jewelry in Opelousas or online at
