Contest Rules

GENERAL CONTEST RULES

The following rules are general to all contests unless specific rules are given for any contest.  Individual contest rules supersede general contest rules.

If the prize won is valued at $600 or more, then the winner must wait for 60 days from the win date before being eligible to win another prize valued at $600 or more.

BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2010, unless other wise specified, all winners have 15 working days to pick up prizes.  If the prize is not picked up within 15 working days it becomes the property of Citadel Broadcasting and the prize is forfeited by the winner.  All prizes may be picked up Monday – Friday during normal business hours at 202 Galbert Rd, Lafayette, LA 70506. 

Potential winners must comply with all eligibility requirements.  If winner is unable to pick up the prize, the person picking the prize for the winner must have sign permission from the winner along with the Social Security of the winner to pick up prize.  Winner is responsible for all taxes, surcharges and any additional costs that may be incurred due to winning this prize.  The contest is open to all listeners who reside in Southwest Louisiana.  Employees, volunteers, interns and agents of Citadel Broadcasting and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, representatives, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, and siblings and their respective spouses and/or life partners), other radio stations in the Southwest Louisiana area and the members of their immediate families and individuals living in the same households of such persons are ineligible to enter or win.

To participate in Text Message contests you must be a member of the TEXT Club (to opt out of being a member of the Text Club, members must simply send a text message with the word “STOP” to 62582).  Centennial Wireless customers are not eligible.  All text charges apply depending on the cell phone provider. 

Station is not responsible for lost, stolen, mutilated, destroyed, misdelivered, postage due, illegible, incomplete or untimely entries. Station is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.  Station is not responsible for any lost, disconnected, dropped, misdirected or incomplete telephone calls.  Entrants may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the station.

Contest subject to all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations. Rules for contests may include exclusions based on age such as when required by law.  Specifically, winners in contests where prizes include concert or event tickets for an event located outside the city limits of Lafayette, Louisiana or contest sponsored by or relating to alcohol beverages.

Rules for contests may also include exclusions such as must be present to win.  In multiple qualifier type contests where a group of people qualify for a grand prize drawing, all qualifiers must be present to win unless otherwise stated.  No stand-ins or guests will be allowed to take a qualifiers place.  If the qualifier is not able to be present he or she forfeits that position and it can be reassigned to another qualifier by a Citadel employee.

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and accept decisions of Citadel Broadcasting and the judges as final in all matters relating to Contest.  Participants agree to allow the use of their names, voice recording and/or picture or likeness in advertising to promote the contest 

Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within the predetermined time limit of winning will be forfeited by the winner. Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.  Citadel Broadcasting reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes, which will become effective upon announcement. 

Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification, at the sole discretion of Citadel Broadcasting.  Winners can not give out false information about their identity.  ID information must match when the winner claims the prize.  Any discrepancies will be grounds for disqualification for all parties involved.  Prize will be subject to revocation. 

Citadel Broadcasting is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize. 

 

For any and all contests with text message based entry, entrants will be required, as requested through on-air announcements, to provide certain information via a text message submission to a designated telephone number.  Text message entries must meet all requirements set forth in the on-air announcements in order to be eligible.  Winners will be determined in accordance with the criteria set forth in the on-air announcement in which entries were solicited.  Text message based entry into any contest is subject to the contest rules, Station’s standard terms and conditions and Station’s privacy policy.  The foregoing policies can be obtained from the Station website or by sending a written request to Station for a copy of such policies.

 

Decisions of Station management are final.  Such decisions may include, but are not limited to, whether an entry adheres to the entry criteria, the time of entry receipt by Station, the order in which text message entries are received, the eligibility of the entrant, and, in the event entry requires the submission of an answer or response, whether that answer or response is correct.

 

Unless otherwise announced, Station will not require the payment of an additional fee to enter any contest in which the means of entry is the submission of a text message.  Standard text messaging rates, as established by an individual’s wireless carrier, may apply, and Station assumes no responsibility for any fees or charges incurred for and associated with any text message sent to or from Station.  Any and all fees arising out of the transmission of a text message shall be the sole responsibility of the entrant.

 

By participating in a contest in which text message based entry is permitted, entrants acknowledge that text messages are distributed and delivered through third party providers; Station does not guarantee, and shall not be responsible for, the delivery or timeliness of any text message entry.  Station will at all times consider the time that a message is logged as arriving in its system as being the time of entry, regardless of the time at which the entrant attempted to send the entry and any technical problems or other complications that may have delayed its delivery.  Station is not responsible for service outages, message failures, transmission delays or any other factor affecting the availability or performance of the text messaging service.  The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if, in the sole discretion of the station,  it is impossible or impractical to complete the contest as planned for any reason, including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.

 

Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or who is otherwise in violation of the rules.  If Station determines that any entry contains false, misleading or fraudulent information, such entry will be disqualified.  Station may require, on request, proof of identity as to the rightful owner of the phone number from which the text message entry was sent.

 

Contests with text message based entries are subject to Station’s Privacy Policy.  By participating in the contest, entrants agree that the Station may contact that entrant at the telephone number from which the text message entry was received.  All text message entries must come from a valid and identifiable telephone number.  Station reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry if that entry’s source and sender cannot be reasonably determined.  Station, through its third party text messaging administrators, will store all messages received on its system.

Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of Citadel Broadcasting, 202 Galbert Rd. Lafayette, LA  70506, on the station’s website or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Citadel Broadcasting.
